Cheese night returned with even more variety. Not only cider, perry and cask ales but a fantastic range of fine wines from Rodney Densem our vintner.
During the last cheese night we had beers, ciders and perrys and of course, lots of cheese! That time however, we were really spoiled and had our new wine list to play with, 13 wines in all and this cheese night it's time to bring out this years Rosie's Blue Bell Seidr !
Cider update - Rosie's Blue Bell Cider is now ready, owing to the poor summer last year, it took something like three more months longer to produce it. There was plenty of rain to feed the fruit but not enough sun to develop the sugars.
Our cheese nights go from strength to strength. During previous nights we've enjoyed as many as 50 varieties of cheese, plenty of crackers, water biscuits, rice cakes and butter, these were all washed down with real ales, ciders, perrys, wonderful wines and a good time was had by all.
The plan is pretty much the same as last time, we will start things off
with some nice cheeses, crackers, water biscuits and rice
cakes for the gluten free folk and if you bring some cheese too we can
all have fun trying them with the new Blue Bell Cider, beers, perrys, ciders and wines, well almost anything you fancy!
Remember on our first cheese night October 2006 we said we would be
making our own cider at the end of that month? Well it was ready for
our April Cheese, Cider & Ale Night and we cracked open Rosie's Blue Bell Cider with Steve Hughes
(our cider producer and a CAMRA National Bottled Cider Champion) in
celebration of our first attempt at creating our own cider just as we
have done with our own successful beer Blue Bell Bitter from Dave Facer.

Rosie's Blue Bell Cider Launched! Written by steve_marquis on 2007-04-14 19:42:47 As you know, Rosie's Blue Bell Cider has been in the making for some months now and the first batch will be ready on April 14th 2007. We held our first apple pressing in October 2006 with a wonderful variety of Halkyn apples to add to our own. The varieties we managed to identify include: Bulmers Norman, Yarlington Mill, Dabinett and Michelin. We had (from Halkyn) Bramley, Tom Putt, we're sure there were Braeburns, Royal Gala and crab apples. | More cheese than you could imagine Written by steve_marquis on 2007-06-21 08:42:25 What a wonderful night and thank you to all those who bought some cheese. We think we had well over 30 styles of cheese this time from here in Wales, Canada, France, Sweden, England and many other places. | Regional Cider Pub of the Year presentat Written by steve_marquis on 2007-10-07 21:36:41 I hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as I did. 50 cheeses and that fantastic accolade to boot. | cheese night Written by phillip on 2008-07-16 08:28:58 An excellent night that was enjoyed by all.
