The Band WagonWe have an great set-up for acoustic music here on the second Thursday of the month with the band Wagon  

Exciting stuff - Terry 'The Bear' Burgin launched his new album Bear Tracks here at the Blue Bell Inn in April with a fantastic Blues party!  May bought the wonderful harmonies of Welcomme, Finnan & Chrimes.

The band Wagon - an informal collective, the core of which is Bill Malkin (guitar and vocals), John Sylvester (keyboards) and Dave Russell (bass, fiddle, banjo) but which also includes Chris Lee (bass, mandolin), Graham Bellinger (harmonica, guitar), Terry Burgin (guitar & Blues vocals) and other musical friends.

Please come along and join them for some wonderful folk, rhythm & blues and get the chance to buy the new CD!

The band Wagon's latest album called 'Those Glory Days' which was launched here at the Blue Bell Inn, Halkyn and is full of lovely acoustic folkish music. Expect to hear some more of the new album this month!  We usually have copies of the band Wagon's music for purchase behind the bar if you are looking for a great present for yourself or others!

Bill Malkin (guitar) Bill was born in South Africa and raised in various parts of Southern Africa; Bill began playing guitar at boarding school in the 1960's in what was then Rhodesia and has never really stopped. A regular at The Raven Folk Club in Chester and The Hungry Horse Acoustic Folk Club in Ellesmere Port, Bill has focussed over the years on crafting his diverse repertoire of fine original songs. From his home-based Shamwari Recording Studio he has also helped to record and produce albums for Bill Gordon, Julie Wright, Graham Bellinger; Root Chords; Geoff Edwin-Scott; Angie Wright and a compilation (featuring l ocal musicians) for the Heart Foundation. John Sylvester (keyboards)John is a very accomplished Aberystwyth-based keyboard player features strongly, adding beautiful piano and organ accompaniment. John can be contacted via his Penybont address here where he runs a lovely Bed & Breakfast and a Self-Catering business.

Dave Russell (bass)  Dave is a very accomplished Chester based musician and we'll have more information as soon as we can gather it!  Dave can usually be found on the fiddle, he also plays mandolin,bass and various other guitars.

Chris Lee (Mandolin) Chris is also a very accomplished Chester based musician and we'll have more information as soon as we can gather it!  Chris can usually be found wrapped around a pint if he is not playing the mandolin, bass and a variety of other instruments!
